Finished book # 13 of the year and this is one my most favorite authors!
Just not my favorite book by her... I loved so much about this book, but it took awhile to get there. I was struggling in the first part of this book because it felt a little one dimensional with character development and relationships. Then as things progressed and hardship set in, the characters grew and became so much more. The story line was so filled with hardship and heartache that it reminds us how much people suffered.
It was based in Texas during the 1920-30s of the Dust Bowl. This is my favorite thing about Historical Fiction and Kristin Hannah's books, I find I always learn so much about the past that seems forgotten when we should never forget.
Here's some of my other favorites that I recently read as well!
