Blah, blah the consumerism of the holidays...

I've been making a conscience effort to really SLOW down this holiday season and enjoy those I love spending time with!

I'm trying really hard to teach this mentality to my children, too. That we don't NEED anything but love and time together this year. Sure, we may WANT a lot of things... but they are just things! The real reason of the season is Jesus and his birthday!

I started this a few years ago (I think it was the year Jack was born), and we're doing it again this year, b/c LESS IS MORE! We're only doing 4 presents this Christmas: something you want, need, wear, and read. ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ

I love this idea because I donโ€™t just go crazy and buy everything for my kids! And, I think my kiddos are catching on, too! Yesterday I overheard Emma tell Santa that she wants a "grateful heart" for Christmas this year before anything else. And, Jack told him that we're baking Jesus brownies for his birthday...#meltmyheart

Anyone else do things like this for Christmas, too?? ๐ŸŽ„
