In all of E.N.T. surgery, perhaps the most technically demanding is the operation I’m having done today, a stapedectomy! Having otosclerosis, I’ve developed hearing loss when my Stapes Bone (also called the 'Stirrup Bone') stops vibrating. In stapedectomy surgery, the stapes is replaced with a microscopically small piston, which is half a millimeter wide…we’re talking teeny-tiny!
Praying for a successful surgery, steady hands for my surgeon, and restored hearing!
